A pick list for card shop staff, on the phone in their pocket

Scan, sign in once a shift, and walk the shelves with the list in your hand.

A pick list is the list of cards staff pull for one customer request, and in Oskii it opens on a staff member's own phone from a QR code, with the bin shown on every line.

Every request comes with a QR code

When a customer sends a request from the kiosk, staff get a new-request email that lists the cards, their locations and a QR code. Scan the code, or tap the link in the email, and the pick list opens in the phone's browser.

There is no app to install and no terminal to walk back to. The list lives wherever the cards are.

The customer has a QR code of their own on the kiosk's confirmation screen. It carries only the short code for their request and points to their status page.

Sign in with a PIN, once a shift

The first time a device opens a request, the page shows the request's short code and the card count with a PIN pad. Staff enter their 6 to 8 digit PIN. A correct PIN keeps that device signed in for twelve hours, which covers a shift.

After that, opening a pick list takes one scan. The PIN guards sign-in, not every tap. Staff can sign out from the pick list, and an owner who deactivates someone or resets a PIN ends that person's sessions.

The bin is on every line

Each line shows the card, its set, finish, condition, quantity and the physical location. Staff do not guess which binder holds the foil. Where a request needs copies from more than one location, Oskii gives each location its own line.

Because the location comes from your inventory, the pick list is only as good as your counts. That is why the inventory and the pick list share one record.

Lines are struck through as staff find them, so a glance at the screen shows what is still to pull. A request that spans several binders reads as a few short stops instead of one long search.

Found or not found

  • Staff mark each line Found or Not found. A line can be changed freely while the request is being fetched, so a misclick costs nothing. For a line where only some copies turned up, staff record how many were found.
  • Staff can work the list standing at a shelf, one hand on the phone. The Found and Not found buttons sit on each line, so there is no menu to open.
  • The request can be completed only when every line is marked one way or the other. That rule means nothing is handed to a customer half-checked.

A partial pull releases only what is missing

When staff complete a request, the holds on not-found lines are released at once, along with any leftover copies on partly found lines. Those cards go back to available for the next customer. The copies that were found stay held for the customer who asked.

The customer gets an email with the found and not-found cards and the total. The request then waits at the counter for the pickup window your shop has set.

The total and the SKUs for your POS

A completed request hands back the total and a list of SKUs to key into the POS you already run. Oskii does not take payment. When the customer pays and picks up, staff mark the request picked up and the found copies come off your on-hand count.

What the customer sees

  1. The customer's tracker moves from Requested to Being fetched when a staff member claims the request, then to Ready when staff complete it. Picked up is the last step. Nobody on the shop floor has to message the customer by hand.

  2. If a request is cancelled, or no one collects it before the pickup window ends, its holds are released and the cards go back to available.

The queue and claims

Signed-in staff can open the queue of open requests from their phone. A staff member claims a request to start fetching it and can release it back to the queue if they get pulled away. The expiry job leaves a request alone while someone is fetching it.

Questions shop owners ask

How do staff open a pick list?
They scan the request's QR code or tap the link in the new-request email. The list opens in the phone's browser, with no app to install.
How long does a PIN sign-in last?
Twelve hours on that device. Staff sign in about once a shift, and can sign out from the pick list at any time.
What happens to cards staff cannot find?
Staff mark them Not found. Completing the request releases only those holds, so the cards return to available, and the found cards stay held for the customer.
Can staff complete a request with lines unchecked?
No. Every line must be marked Found or Not found before the request can be completed.
Can two staff members work the same request?
One staff member claims a request to fetch it. If they are pulled away they can release it back to the queue for someone else to claim.
Do staff need to buy hardware?
No. They use the phones they already carry. The counter needs an iPad for the kiosk, and nothing else.
